Such a large amount of varied research across disciplines has been commissioned by the Religion and Society Programme that it seems sensible to organise it thematically. This provides a more focused insight into the content of the Programme.
As the Programme was developed, a group of themes under which to commission research was established. Applicants had to demonstrate how their proposed project related to two or more of these themes. See the list of these themes, descriptions and related projects under 'Original Themes'.
As the research progresses, however, we are seeing slightly different common themes emerging, which are helping us to group and think through the research and how to communicate it most effectively to wider audiences. You will soon be able to click on the 'Emerging Themes' to read about these themes, which will be subject to change and updating as the Programme evolves.
