Part-time Postdoctoral Position on Modest Dressing Project Advertised

£30,718 - £36,784 pro rata

London College of Fashion

21 hours per week, fixed term contract for one year.

University of the Arts London is a vibrant world centre for innovation, drawing together six Colleges with international reputations in art, design, fashion, communication and performing arts.

We are looking for a dedicated researcher who will relish the opportunity to work on the project Modest Dressing: faith-based fashion and internet retail, funded by the AHRC/ESRC Religion and Society Programme The ability to undertake scholarly research and to provide robust overall research support to the Principal Investigator Professor Reina Lewis and Co-Investigator, Dr Emma Tarlo or Goldsmith’s College, will be crucial to your success. We will look to you to design a project database, co-ordinate and attend regular project meetings, assist in organising a virtual conference and undertake research trips both within the UK and internationally.

In addition to a postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional standing, you will bring a specialist expertise in fashion marketing and retail research, particularly in relation to the burgeoning area of internet retail. Proven scholarly contribution to a subject area related to the project is vital, and the capacity to form strong working relationships with the team is one of the key attribute we seek. You will also need an appropriate level of IT skills to carry out the varied responsibilities of this engaging role.
