Dr O’Toole is Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Bristol. In 2009, Therese was awarded a Religion and Society Large Grant, with Tariq Modood and Nasar Meer (University of Southampton), to study Muslim Participation in Contemporary Governance.

Professor Knott is Director of the AHRC Research Programme on Diasporas, Migration and Identities (2005-10). She has led the Religion and Society-funded project Media portrayals of religion and the secular sacred and supervised Jasjit Singh’s PhD Keeping the Faith: The transmissions of "Sikhism" among young British Sikhs (18-30) also funded by the Programme.

Trevor has been chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission since it was established in 2006. He was previously Chair of the Commission for Racial Equality. He is co-author of Windrush: the irresistible rise of multi-racial Britain (1998).

The Rt Hon Dominic Grieve QC MP is a barrister and has been the MP for Beaconsfield since 1997. He was the Shadow Attorney General from 2003-09 and Shadow Home Secretary from 2008-09. Under the new Government Dominic has been appointed Attorney General.
